Colorado Tourism Re-brand
Tourism Logo Re-brand
I was tasked to re-brand the Colorado tourism logo. The current logo symbol is taken from the Colorado flag but it doesn’t necessarily describe all the rich history that Colorado tourism has to offer. I wanted to take a different approach than the current flag symbol it uses, as well as stay away from anything that had to do with mountains because I felt these marks are overdone and that Colorado has other things to offer. Through research, I found one of the differentiators was that Colorado was founded 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1876, making it the Centennial State. I also wanted to include a nod to its historical western past and its name Colorado which means “red”. I used these three elements to push my design away from Colorado’s association with mountains and into a more unique aspect of its history.
